Dr. Turgay completed his high school in Paris/France, then continued his BA., and received MBA in Boğaziçi University at1973. While transcending professionally, he continued his academic work and acquired his doctorate from Istanbul University, in 1977. Thereafter, he held many top executive positions regarding the famous private sector companies at Istanbul until 1980. At the very beginning of 1980, by the request of the Turkish Republic’s government, he worked at the Prime ministry as Dept. Head in State Planning Organization where the supreme institution for economic administration for the country is being realized. Meanwhile, he was also appointed as an executive consultant to the Turkish Air Force Foundation (TAFF) and contributed to many military industrial projects. He obtained his Assoc. Professorship in 1980. Besides the hectic government work, he was also a part-time academic member in Gazi University, Industrial Engineering Department who instructed Systems Analysis Courses. Towards the end of 1983, he entered into politics to be a candidate for the elections for Turkish Parlement. In 1985 he founded his own company in the field of the mining industry and infrastructural constructions. Furthermore, he has been the consultant to some of the most renowned medical, food, chemical, and militaristic foreign companies. In 1990, by liquidating his business he returned to the academic career as a full-time academician in EMU, Business and Economics Faculty. In 1997 Dr. Tayfun TURGAY obtained his Professorship. Between 1999 and 2000 he also worked in a position of Undersecretary to the TRNC Prime ministry. 2002-2003, he turned to EMU and appointed as Vice Rector for Academic Affairs. Prof.Dr. Tayfun TURGAY also elected as President of EMU Faculty Association (DAÜ-BİR) for long years. In 2010, he became a member of the Girne American University family. He teaches Strategic Management to the postgraduate session and holds the position of Director of the Social and Applied Science Institute. He held the position as the Faculty Member and Vice Rector(Provost) position within the Mediterranean Carpasia University between 2013-2015. Recently he was Rector and Trustees Board as well as Executive Committee Member at Akacan Technical University(Akatech) at North Cyprus and is now Member of the Trustees Board and Rector of the Cyprus West University. He has many nationally and internationally published articles and conferences. Prof. TURGAY speaks French and English. Married and has one son.
