Historical process of the field, main theoretical and methodological issues, social cognition, pattern judgments, prejudice and discrimination, self in social and cultural context. Social psychology is a discipline that seeks to understand how our feelings, our behaviors and our thoughts are influenced by social structure and process. This course, which is the first part of a two-semester course, focuses on social interaction. The relevance of the theoretical framework to the social structure and field researches are conveyed through a cross-cultural perspective.
